Changes made to proposals to extend a home mean Calderdale councillors are now happy with an application.

A revised scheme submitted by Adnan Rashid to extend his property at Gibraltar Road, Halifax, has simplified the project.

The removal of a single storey element from the plans meant on balance they were acceptable, with some conditions, even though they would still impact on the street scene, planning councillors heard and approved the application.

Calderdale Council’s Planning Committee were told the site is an end dwelling forming part of an early 1900s terrace of similar houses, situated at the junction of Gibraltar Road and Mile Cross Road.

Previously councillors had considered plans for the site and voiced concerns about parking.

Changes meant three parking spaces could now be provided within the site.

Councillors also approved J. Stoyles’ application to vary a planning condition attached to approved renovation plans at Highroyd Farm, Greetland Road, Barkisland.
