Dozens of tributes have been laid for a much-loved young man who died in a car crash in a Calderdale village.

Flowers, balloons, candles and ribbons have been left with messages of love for the 19-year-old, named locally as Joe Walsh.

As reported by the Courier, Joe was driving a white Seat Ibiza down Brow Lane in Shelf when it hit a wall late on Friday night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the crash, which happened shortly before 11.17pm, or lives near Halifax Road and Brow Lane to check their dashcam or CCTV for any footage that might help the police investigation.
